چکیده
In this study, an attempt is made to check whether a hybrid composite up of both synthetic and natural fibers (Carbon Cordia Dichotoma respectively) can be bio-degradable, at least some extent, without much compromising on the mechanical properties. Hybrid composites were prepared by reinforcing alkali treated dichotoma carbon into epoxy resin using hand lay-up method. By varying number layers in specimen fixing 20% fiber weight for all composites, nine distinct combinations specimens prepared. The maximum tensile strength 386.68 MPa, flexural 647.08 impact energy 4.82 J obtained produced with pure fiber, whereas exhibit 367.76 646.41MPa 4.74 J. interfacial bonding between matrix tested was studied scanning electron microscope (SEM), as well arrangement within manufactured composite. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) used investigate thermal stability, it found that thermally stable 415°C. 9. Crystallinity value increases from fiber.

متن کاملEffect of Chopped Carbon Fiber on Electrical and Thermal properties of Carbon Reinforced Epoxy Composites
This work presents an insight into the effect of conductive filler content on both electrical and thermal properties of a polymer composite system. The electrical conductivity of an insulating polymer can be achieved by dispersing conducting fillers (e.g., metal, graphite powder, carbon black, carbon fiber) in the polymer matrix. The resulting materials are referred to as conducting polymer com...

Effect of addition of filler material to the natural fiber composite was experimentally investigated. Composites are manufactured by the conventional hand-layup method. All composites are made with a fixed banana fiber with 15% weight fraction addition of different weight fraction of (0, 3, 5, 7.5%) groundnut shell ash is added to the composite. Tensile, hardness, impact and compressive strengt...

The aim of this study is to investigate effects of isothermal aging on mechanical properties of fiber metal laminates (FMLs) and glass/epoxy composites. For this purpose, both materials were fabricated using the wet lay-up manufacturing technique under vacuum pressure. Both the glass/epoxy composites and the FML specimens were then subjected to isothermal aging (130°C, dried air) for up to 5 we...
